saw David on the street last week. He told me about Rockaway Taco, so the family tried to make it part of our city beach safari. Guess we beat you to the beach! Let us know when you open for the season, we will be back, likely with the entire tribe in tow. Very excited. Looks amazing.
    Good luck. See you soon

    Hi David,

I got your name through Wanda Acosta. I am a big long time fan and traveler to the Rockaways. I have been working on a book for the last 6-7 years about the Rockaway Park area called “Last Stop: Rockaway Park”.

I would love to see you restaurant when I come out next which I hope will be near the end of the month. I would also like to talk to you about moving out there. Check out my website and you will see my Rockaways images.

    Take care and Best,

Nice atmosphere. Cool decor. Unique and de-freaking-liscious quesadillas (and even better guacamole.) Missing one thing– Mexicans. Overall, not bad guys. Not bad at all.

And, thanks for interrupting those 30-something tacos for us.

I came out to Rockaway Beach for a little day trip away from the city. I was blown away by the laid-back vibe, feeling of being a million miles from Manhattan (in a great way), and most of all, the best damn fish tacos I have ever had. Kudos to you all, and I can’t wait to come back!

Now on to Long Beach Fish Taco, your next location. (And it’s at the end of the train line.) But when???

    Hi there,

I will be by tomorrow to chat about Sandcastles and also could you send over a jpeg of the logo to jessica.sherr@gmail.com?

  • 21 Charles // Aug 26, 2009 at 5:45 pm

We were back in Rockaway visiting my parents for a few days (I grew up there and now live in PA). Had fish tacos and Elote on Tuesday; we just had to stop back on Wed before hitting the road to Philadelphia. Wow! Those are really great tacos. And the vibe was nice too. Maybe Rockaway is going to become a hipster neighborhood like Brooklyn.

  • 22 Jessica Sherr // Aug 27, 2009 at 9:34 pm

    Hi Andrew,

I was trying to get in touch with David. Could you send me his email so I can touch base with him about Sandcastles? I am swamped as there is so much to do. Thank you!

    Always in the Art,

I’m hooked. I’ve been to rockaway taco twice in the last two days and I came from Harlem. They should rename the A train “The Rockaway Taco Express.” I love Rockaway Beach; it’s like no other beach in nyc. I want to rent there next summer, if anyone knows of a place.

  • 24 Luisa // Sep 7, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Rockaway Taco is definitely a (genius) great addition to the community. You guys have no idea how much you have contributed just by attracting people from all over because of your delicious food! So sorry to see the season is ending…see you next year.
